Love And Laughter Recalled!!!

It happened in the initial months of our marriage. We were back from a friend’s house after the dinner. I felt some uneasiness with my health and decided to have some rest. Little did I have any idea of what is going to come next!

I gained high fever. As the night progressed, my body was literally burning with fever and I was shivering with chills. I felt as if none of my senses were working and desperately needed a sleep. The harder I tried, the more difficult it became for me to sleep in that condition. In an almost sub-conscious state, I woke up my ‘snoring husband’  (yes, he snores, although he never admits!!! 😛 ). He touched my forehead and, realizing so high temperature, went out of the room. I thought he will come back with some medicine or will call someone for some home remedy. With this thought I kept lying on the bed waiting for him to return.

He came back and asked me to turn. What I saw really made me stand on my bed! At such wee hours, he was carrying his shoe in his hand facing towards me. My heart skipped a beat and I really felt like wattttt the hell is this? What he must be up to? My mind ran a thousand miles that minute. Countless stupid probabilities ran through it.  I asked him exactly what he wants to do and his reply made me burst into laughter. He said, “Arre, Why did you get up? I am not doing anything but just trying to take your Nazar off with this black shoe. You will be fine soon!!

Hearing this, I forgot my fever and couldn’t stop laughing for minutes. Even he too joined me in laughter and started making a mockery of me as how I jumped off the bed seeing a shoe in his hand like that! From a person like him, who doesn’t at all believe in ‘buri nazar’ or ‘the evil eye concept’, this was the last thing I would have had ever expected.

I asked him how he suddenly came up with this that too at such hour of the night and his reply again took my heart away. He said, “Sometimes you are bound to leave aside your belief and just follow your heart!

It’s been more than 8 years to our relationship and ever since I have always found it evolving and blossoming into something far stronger and lasting. My husband is not super romantic or among the ones to wear his heart on his sleeve but whenever we recall this moment, it brings smiles to our faces and we couldn’t help falling in love with each other all over again.

It reassures our love for each other and that life couldn’t be any better. Holding each other’s hands, we laugh together, cry together and make the most of our lives together.

Every single day I am grateful to God that I love a person like him and am blessed that he chose to love me too.
